Centratel is committed to the safety and health of all employees and complies with regulations governing injury and accident prevention and employee safety. Maintaining a safe work environment, however, requires the continuous cooperation of all employees. We expect all employees to conduct their work in compliance with OSHA safety regulations, Oregon Safety Codes and Health Regulations and other applicable rules or regulation.
If you are ever in doubt about how to perform your job safely it is your responsibility to ask your manager for assistance. Immediately report suspected unsafe practices and conditions and all injuries that occur on the job. It is the responsibility of each employee to accept and follow established safety regulations and procedures.
Centratel maintains a safety committee in compliance with Oregon laws. The committee meets quarterly. The committee’s tasks include quarterly inspections of facilities and reviewing and implementing safety procedures. The names of current Safety Committee members are posted in next to the Dispatcher station.
Federal law (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requires that we keep records of all illnesses and accidents that occur during the workday. The Oregon State Workers’ Compensation Act also requires that you report any workplace illness or injury, no matter how slight.
If you are injured while working, no matter how minor the injury, report it immediately to your supervisor. Supervisors complete incident reports on injuries; should off site medical treatment be necessary, you and your manager will complete the required claim form.
If you are away from work due to a work-related injury, communicate with your manager. Let us know what the physician is saying and how you are doing. You will need to present a written work release and meet with your manager before returning to work. With a doctor’s note, light duty work may be available to you if you are not able to return to your regular duties.
