Client Message Delivery Methods

Alpha Page

Delivery to wherever the client is located, for those who move around
30MCB (30 minute call back). INR (if no response)

  • Centratel negatives: none!
  • Centratel positives: simple and fast, inexpensive. Some LD (long distance) charges
  • Client negatives: must purchase/rent & carry an additional device. If out of range, page will never be delivered
  • Client positives: client does nothing to retrieve messages. Client can be anywhere

Email to Cell

Delivery to wherever the client is located, for those who move around

  • Centratel negatives: none!
  • Centratel positives: simple, fast inexpensive. No LD charges.
  • Client negatives: one-time conversion. Client must get extra service through cell company
  • Client positives: client does nothing to retrieve messages. Client can be anywhere. If client is out of range and does not receive message, it will be delivered later when client comes back into range

Email

Delivery to any computer with internet access, for those who stay in one place
E/M EA MSG (email each message) or HOLD FOR AUTO E/M (email)

  • Centratel negatives: none!
  • Centratel positives: simple, fast, inexpensive (no LD charges)
  • Client negatives: client must have internet access and be at a computer
  • Client positives: convenient. Message can be delivered to multiple addresses

Fax

Delivery to one place, one message at a time and/or batches
FAX EA MSG or HOLD FOR AUTO FAX

  • Centratel negatives: LD charges. Msg delivery requires “tying up” an outgoing trunk for as long as it takes for the fax to be delivered
  • Centratel positives: simple, fast
  • Client negatives: client must have access to a fax machine, msgs delivered to one location only
  • Client positives: hard-copy of msgs, convenient

Voice Mail

For those moving around a lot, it offers maximum flexibility.
V/M

  • Centratel negatives: msg delivery by TSR is time consuming. LD charges as client calls in to pick up messages
  • Centratel positives: TSR delivers complete msg in own voice
  • Client negatives: client must call in to PU (pick up) messages
  • Client positives: can listen to msg multiple times, save for later retrieval

Voice Mail with Email Delivery

Delivery to client’s computer via Email
VM (ALERTS D/P) or VM (ALERTS E/M)
(D/P = digital pager)

  • Centratel negatives: TSR msg delivery to voice mail is time consuming
  • Centratel positives: TSR delivers msg in own voice, no LD charges
  • Client negatives: none!
  • Client positives: same as above “Voice Mail,” and client has choice of either picking up messages on computer, or calling in to pick up msgs directly from VM: Lots of flexibility.

Voice Mail with Pager Alert

Notification at client’s location via numeric, alpha or cellular. Note: For on-call applications limit use of this option to no more than two on-call people (using two VM boxes) or to multiple O/C people if one pager is shared (using one VM box). Be careful with this, it can be impractical to the client)
VM (ALERTS D/P) or VM (ALERTS C)

  • Centratel negatives: same as above “Voice Mail”
  • Centratel positives: same as above “Voice Mail”
  • Client negatives: same as above “Voice Mail”
  • Client positives: same as above “Voice Mail” PLUS client immediately notified of message

Cross-Connect to Land Line

Delivery to one location
X/C R (cross connect to residence). INA (if no answer)

  • Centratel negatives: time consuming for TSR
  • Centratel positives: TSR receives absolute confirmation that message is delivered
  • Client negatives: client will be interrupted for call, caller can be on-hold for long periods.
  • Client positives: client does nothing to retrieve msgs. Client can be at home. Client talks to caller immediately

Cross-Connect (Patch) to Cellular

Delivery to client’s location.
X/C C. INA

  • Centratel negatives: time consuming for agent
  • Centratel positives: TSR receives absolute confirmation that message is delivered
  • Client negatives: client interrupted for call, caller can be on-hold for long periods.
  • Client positives: client does nothing to retrieve msgs. Client can be anywhere. Client talks to caller immediately

Digital Pager (With Caller’s Number)

We don’t offer this to new accounts anymore. Although a number of “grandfathered” accounts still use numeric pagers. Now, if a digital pager is to be used, the TSR deposits messages into a voice mail box and the voice mailbox will auto-page the client

Delivery to wherever the client is located. Convert to alpha or VM with out-dial.

  • Centratel positives: relatively inexpensive
